Our History
Where Friends Meet and New Friends are Met
The Yardarm has been a “local” spot for many since 1971. Whether you want to enjoy a drink or two at the bar, a chat with an old or new friend or you would like to sit in the dining room for lunch or dinner, you will enjoy coming in. People come from near and far to enjoy the food, the drinks and the experience of the Yardarm. Early In 2015, the owners, Carol & Tony Barreiro, purchased the Yardarm and have enjoyed their baptism of the Orleans culture, meeting and hanging out with the “locals”, as well as those who visit the Cape from all over the country.
We love being many customers local spot. Every town has one . . . that neighborhood gathering place where friends meet for a drink, some conversation and conviviality, where upon entry, you are greeted with a smile and a thanks for coming; and where, when you get hungry, a table is waiting, as is the service and the food is home cooked. In Orleans, we’re that place – The Yardarm. Since 1971, we have been the spot on Outer Cape Cod, where friends meet and new friends are met.
Local color abounds, from fishermen to physicians, tradesmen to Tourists; all rubbing elbows at the bar and extending conversation from table to table while the Red Sox, Patriots or Celtics appear on our many TVs.
Our restaurant has an extensive menu of local seafood, chowders, soups, steaks, pastas and burgers. Please note, we do not offer a specific Gluten-free menu; however, there are many items to choose from. Please talk with your Server to decide a meal that works best for you.
Every day, the Specials have even more offerings to tempt you with appetizers, finger foods, the day’s fresh catch right.
